Trevor Strother recently attended the Adelaide session of the “Deepwater Horizon Revisited – Investigative Insights” roadshow. There are many lessons to be learned from this incident that apply to all businesses, not just those involved in oil and gas exploration. Trevor’s view is that the culture that developed over many years, primarily by normalisation of risk and behaviour through creep would be evident in many organisations. Whilst an event may not be as catastrophic, this culture creep is likely to be affecting business performance in a negative way.
